Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the www.getcarclean.com website ("the Site") operated by GetCarClean ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

1. About the Site

GetCarClean is a UK-based directory of car washes and vehicle cleaning services. We provide business listings, location search, blog content, and user reviews. We do not operate any car wash businesses ourselves and are not responsible for the services they provide.

2. Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes. You must not:

  • Use the Site in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation.
  • Scrape, crawl or harvest data from the Site by automated means without our written permission.
  • Attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Site.
  • Use the Site to transmit unsolicited marketing material or spam.

3. Accounts

Where you create an account (including Business Owner accounts), you must provide accurate, complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. We may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms.

4. Business Listings

Listing information is provided for general guidance only. While we make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate, we do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any listing data, including opening hours, prices, services offered, or contact details. You should verify information directly with the business before visiting.

5. User Reviews

The following terms apply when you submit a review through the Site:

5.1 Eligibility and Truthfulness

By submitting a review you confirm that: (a) you are at least 16 years old; (b) the review reflects a genuine experience at the business reviewed; and (c) all information you provide, including your name and email address, is truthful and accurate.

5.2 Email Verification

Reviews require email verification before they are published. We send a one-time verification link to the email address you provide. Your email address is stored securely and is never displayed publicly on the Site.

5.3 Prohibited Content

Reviews must not contain:

  • False, misleading or fraudulent statements.
  • Defamatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or hateful language.
  • Personal information about third parties (e.g. full names of staff, phone numbers).
  • Spam, advertising, or promotional content unrelated to the business.
  • Content that infringes any third party's intellectual property or other rights.
  • Obscene, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable material.

5.4 Licence You Grant Us

By submitting a review (including any accompanying text, star rating and photographs), you grant GetCarClean a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, display and distribute your review in any media, including on the Site, in marketing materials and on third-party platforms. You retain ownership of your original content but acknowledge that reviews, once published, form part of the Site's public record and may not be removed solely at your request (see 5.6).

5.5 Photographs

By uploading photographs with a review, you confirm that you own the images or have permission to share them, and you grant us the same licence described in section 5.4. Images are resized and converted to WebP format for performance. We store images on our servers and content delivery network and may retain them indefinitely.

5.6 Moderation and Removal

We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor, edit or remove any review at our sole discretion, including reviews that breach these Terms, are flagged by a business owner, or that we reasonably believe to be fake or misleading. 5.7 No Compensation

Reviews are submitted voluntarily. You will not receive payment or other compensation for any review you submit.

5.8 Rate Limiting

To maintain quality and prevent abuse, we limit the number of reviews that can be submitted from a single email address or IP address within a given period. Attempts to circumvent these limits may result in your reviews being removed and your access being restricted.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site (excluding user-submitted content), including text, graphics, logos, icons, the "GetCarClean" name, page layouts and software, is the property of GetCarClean or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

7. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party site.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GetCarClean, its directors, employees and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed £100.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GetCarClean from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, or any content you submit.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Site ceases immediately.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
